Scanner or Clinician?

Scanner or Clinician? Why Technology Is Only as Good as the Person Using It

Technology has changed dentistry completely.

It helps us transfer information faster and more clearly between dentist, patient and laboratory technician. A digital scan can help a patient understand what we are seeing, and it can help the lab receive more accurate information when planning restorative or cosmetic work.

But technology does not replace the dentist’s eyes.

It does not replace clinical judgement, experience, treatment planning, or the ability to understand what information matters and what its limitations may be.
